BareMinerals newest foundation promises to retain all of the much-loved qualities of the original BareMinerals Foundation while treating your skin to a healthy dose of blemish fighting Salicylic Acid (BHA). BareMinerals definitely came up with a marvelous concept for their new foundation, especially since powder foundations are perfect for those with oily skin which is often acne prone; BUT....
BareMinerals new Blemish Remedy Foundation is a beautiful foundation, particularly for a loose powder foundation. The texture of blemish remedy is absolutely divine; it's smooth, creamy, buttery, and delivers a natural soft-focus matte finish. While the formula is very similar to the original BareMinerals Foundation (or more appropriately the BareMinerals Matte Foundation), BareMinerals seems to have outdone themselves with the texture of their Blemish Remedy Foundation because it is absolutely beautiful.

You can expect the same water-proof finish that you would get with either BareMinerals Original Foundation or BareMinerals Matte Foundation and the same oil-absorbing properties are present ofcourse. You'll be able to get full coverage from BareMinerals Blemish Remedy Foundation, or, you can use Blemish Remedy as a sheer setting powder over your liquid or cream foundation. Both coverage options (and everything in between) will produce equally fantastic results, however, if you want to minimize pores, you should absolutely use a puff to "press & roll" the powder into your skin instead of a brush. If you want light coverage, you can apply Bare MINERALS Blemish Remedy Foundation with a brush and then press the powder into your skin with the puff after.

Despite all of the improvements BareMinerals made with their new Blemish Remedy Foundation, there are three things you must be aware of before purchasing:

1. BareMinerals Blemish Remedy Foundation does NOT have sunscreen like BareMinerals Original Foundation or BareMinerals Matte Foundation.
2. BareMinerals Changed the packaging for Blemish Remedy Foundation. Instead of the loose-powder jar with a closeable sifter, BareMINERALS has housed Blemish Remedy in an oversized screw top jar with a sifting NET in the center of it. Its very bizarre and while it may be good for brush placement, it's not great for travel and the net CAN break (fairly easily).
3. The salicylic acid and acne fighting ingredients are not likely to help heal blemishes. In order to exfoliate skin, you need a very specific PH level but you can't have a Ph without being wet so the dry salicylic scid is likely useless and won't be able to clear skin in the least. It does have anti-irritant qualities though, so if you are typically sensitive to bismuth oxychoride the BHA may help.

BareMinerals Blemish Remedy Foundation is available in 12 shades which range from porcelain to the lighter-side-of-deep. BareMinerals did a good job with the shades and they all have relatively accurate shade descriptions in regards to the undertones of the shades. Because there is no sunscreen, the medium-deep shades that had an ashen undertone with BareMinerals Original or Matte Foundations, will probably retain their color purity better.

If you're a fan or BareMinerals Foundations, or just a sucker for mineral makeup, BareMinerals Blemish Remedy Foundation is worth considering, regardless of Iif you have blemishes. If you're looking for the miracle-acne-cure-and-foundation-in-one, you'll probably be disapointed, but even then, the performance of Blemish Remedy will likely negate any disappointments because it really is one of, if not THE Best foundation BareMinerals Offers!
