BareMinerals Prime Time primers come in an assortment of options. Selecting the best one for you may appear to be a bit of a daunting task for those who aren't primer-savvy but their BB Primer Cream is certainly an interesting option that may be worth considering!

bareMinerals claims that the BB Priming Cream will "perfect, protect, and prime all at the same time with a hint of skin-perfecting coverage." They also claim that it will "immediately diminish the appearence of discoloration, uneven skin tone, and imperfections" and "the silky smooth formula combats flaky dryness, excess oil and the appearance of pores".

bareMinerals isn't exagerating at all. The list of benefits may seem a little extensive, but the Prime Time BB Primer can absolutely do everything claimed.

The "Daily Defense" portion of the name is referring to two things; the sun protection and the silicones. It's a known fact that silicones can help protect skin and are actually recognized as a skin protectant by the FDA, but that's really trivial compared to the more-than-adequate sun protection you'll be afforded with a moderate application.

The formula is extremely silky and smooth and you can apply it with your fingers or a brush designed for BB/CC Creams. I wouldn't use a sponge because they're too absorbant and are better suited for a more liquid-type of product.

Many people will probably find the BB Primer Cream to provide sufficient coverage to wear without foundation. Because of the soft matte finish that prevents sliding & fading, you'll probably find the coverage level to be slightly better than many tinted moisturizers.

Initially, Prime Time BB Primer Cream was available in only two shades; Light & Medium. For the fall season of 2014, bareMinerals added two more shades- Fair & Deep.

The Light & Deep shades are slightly yellow-toned while Fair and Medium are a soft neural-to-pink shade. Fair is perfect for those with very pale skin. Keep in mind that you do have a bit of flexibility choosing a shade because of the sheer nature of the coverage. (Pun intended.)

The only hiccups I have found with Prime Time BB Cream Primer are the packaging and the inconsistency of the formula. Because of the thick texture of the formula, the nozzle of the pump has a tendency to get clogged. It's not a big deal, but it's worth mentioning.

The other issue of "inconsistency" I referred to is the texture and thickness of the formula. I have personally opened three separate bottles and each one had a slightly different thickness. It's not a big deal and they all performed equally well but I wish I knew how the formula was intended to start it's life!

The primer as a whole is incredibly similar to Tarte's 12 Hour BB Priming Treatment SPF 30 which is one of my all time favorite sunscreens, BB Creams AND primers and like Tarte's BB Primer, bareMinerals BB Primer meets all of these requirements equally well and is certainly worth trying!
