Did anyone catch Mally on QVC last night? I did. Well, more specifically, I DVR'd it and watched it this morning. I was hoping that they would feature one of Mally's concealers and foundations because I wanted to get a good picture of the shades.
I was sent Mally's Ultimate Performance Foundation to test out a few weeks ago but had held off on doing a review because I was sent "Medium/Tan," and I was very confused since I couldn't find it on the Mally Beauty website list of shades which only included Fair, Light, Medium, Tan, and Rich. Well, last night eliminated my need to contact customer service and ask about Medium/Tan, I learned that its one of THREE new shades Mally's added to her beauty arsenal, in addition to Light/Medium, and Deep, which is great because now nearly everyone will be able to find an appropriate match!

Mally Ultimate Performance Liquid Foundation is not your typical long-wearing foundation like  Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay In Place Makeup, or Revlon Colorstay, instead Ultimate Performance is a formula which will suit a broader range of skin types.

While many long-wearing formulas dry out your skin and are best suited for an oily canvas, Mally's Ultimate Performance Foundation is suitable for normal & dry skin as well. It goes on smooth and blends like a dream. It has wonderful slip and gives you ample time to play around before it sets to a natural looking finish while providing full coverage with minimal effort, yet you can easily blend it down if that's your preference without it separating or peeling like some long-wearing formulas, or turning into a shiny and greasy disaster like so many hydrating formulas. (You know what I mean if you've tried either of them.)

Ultimate Performance Liquid Foundation also has more slip than many formulas, giving you plenty of time to blend. Mally also says that it delivers moisture all day long.  While normally I would say a moisturizing/long lasting formula is an oxymoron, but this somehow manages to do it! If you have oily skin & want to try this I would recommend getting the Poreless Face Defender as well to combat shine, or try Mally's Poreless Porefection Powder Foundation which is a very decent powder foundation. Mally suggests using your fingers to apply Ultimate Performance to warm up the proprietary gel in the formula and the results are amazing!

I usually wear Fair or Light in Mally products, so needless to say Medium Tan was a little darker than unwearable for me, but that didn't stop me from thoroughly testing it. I just picked a few days when I wouldn't leave the house and gave it a go! I think that one of the differences between this and other foundations with similar intended purposes, is the inclusion of a very specific and unique ingredient which has worked wonders for Mally products and the Beauty industry in the past- Polymethylsilsesquioxane.

Polymethylsilsesquioxane is the main ingredient in Mally's Award Winning and Revolutionary Poreless Face Defender. (For those of you who don't know, it is a "replacement for setting powder," and it is a clear, hard balm designed to fill in fine lines, wrinkles and pores while controlling oil. Many many brands have attempted to copy the general idea, but none have come close to the original!)

Polymethylsilsesquioxane is not by any means a main ingredient in Ultimate Performance but it is present, and anyone who has used the Face Defender knows that you don't need alot, (infact you need so little its rarely visible), so even its presence in minuscule amounts is sure to make a big difference in a products performance. I'm by no means a chemist, but seeing that it is included makes me think it must be contributing SOMETHING positive!

I think the proof with Ultimate Performance Liquid Foundation is in just how well this foundation lives up to its name. It is a balanced, well formulated foundation. While those with exceptionally dry skin may still need to prep with an additional hydrator and those with very oily skin will need a primer or setting product; Mally Ultimate Performance is a fabulous foundation that will suit almost any skin type;. Because of Mally's recent addition of 3 shades, the 8 shade range will suit fair to deep skin tones and there is virtually no issue of oxidation throughout the day!

If you typically are fond of foundations like Lancome Photogenic Lumessence, Shiseido Dual Balancing Foundation, or Dior Star Fluid Foundation; Mally Ultimate Performance Liquid Foundation is a marvelous CRUELTY FREE alternative!

***My grandmother came up to visit me a few weeks ago and wanted to venture back in to the makeup world. She's 89 and hasn't worn foundation in about 30 years but she DOES wear sunscreen everyday so I wanted something really easy for her to use that was similar to applying sunscreen. I gave her Mally's Ultimate Performance Foundation and she was ROCKING it. She was so absolutely ecstatic with the results and how it smoothed out all her fine lines and wrinkles while covering all her age spots and sun damage. If there was ever a time to do before & after pics it was then but it totally slipped my mind.***
