Hard Candy Glamoflauge LITE Blendable Concealer & Corrector Duo
New for Spring 2014
CRUELTY FREE!!!
Price: $6
(for 5.4 grams!)

The classic of Hard Candy Glamouflage/Glamoflauge Concealer has been a cult favorite for half a decade. For a mere $6 you get a petroleum based, full coverage concealer which has some of the best pigmentation around. (You also get a concealing pencil as a bonus!) Yet, despite the fabulous coverage, no product is a one size fits all in the beauty world, so Hard Candy has released the lower calorie sister of Glamoflauge; enter Hard Candy Glamoflauge LITE Blendable Concealer & Corrector Duo!
***If you haven't figured it out by now, one of my pet peeves with Glamouflage is the spelling. I have been spelling it Glamouflage in this post for months and months. My attention to detail may have been poor, but my logic was simple-
CamoUFLAGE-Camo+ GLAMO= GLAMOUFLAGE; right? Apparently not. The correct spelling of Glamouflage is Glamoflauge, so instead of a simple play on words, Hard Candy relocated the "u" and has totally screwed me up. I don't know how most people who don't own the product would spell it, so I am going to continue to alterenate between the correct & incorrect spelling because the incorrect spelling is based on logic....well, sort of!***

Unlike its predecessor, Glamoflauge/Glamouflage LITE Concealer is not an emollient based product. Its main ingredient is dimethicone (a silicone which is semi water soluble), meaning that it is supposed to blend out creamily & easily & it will leave a powdery satin-matte finish, and those w/normal-dry skin should not need to set it with powder.

Dimethicone based cream/creme products have been around for years in foundations (like Cruelty Free Too Faced Air Buffed BB Creme Compact), but its only recently we're really seeing them in concealers. Almay CC Concealing & Brightening Duo is a great example of how tricky it can be to perfect this type of formula, but Hard Candy has done an excellent job with Glamoflauge LITE!

I had pretty low expectations for the Glamouflage LITE  Concealer Duo since these products are often a bust for me, but I was surprisingly impressed. I liked it much more than Almay's Smartshade CC Concealing & Brightening Duo as Hard Candy Glamoflauge Lite is more a more blendable concealer (with far more human-like shades)

Hard Candy's Blendable Glamouflage Lite Concealing Duo offers great value right off the rip in that you get two shades in one dual ended crayon-like housing. Granted, you don't walk away with 20ml like you do with the original Glamouflage, but that's to be expected. Hard Candy says one end is a concealer & one is a corrector but I can't tell which is which & I actually like the undertone of both mixed together best, but you may find one end works better than the other and vice versa for correcting or highlighting.

Hard Candy Glamoflauge Lite Blendable Concealer Duo's performance is really decent. It has the right ratio of remaining creamy w/out being drying and it's not so creamy it settles in fine lines (on normal skin, dry & oily skinned gals will have to make adjustments via prepping & moisturizing or powder.) The great thing about the dimethicone, is it will smooth out fine lines & wrinkles (think any silicone primer.) That reminds me, if you use a silicone primer which is dimethicone based versus cyclopentasiloxane, you may want to use a little less or scrap it when you wear Glamouflage LITE since too much dimethicone can be tricky to blend, but play around and find what works for you. Those with dry skin may need to use a moisturizing primer underneath or an emollient foundation.

Wear time is decent but will vary on very dry or oily skin. If you're on an extreme end, just take extra steps to make sure you get the ultimate wear for your buck!

Hard Candy Glamoflauge Lite Blendable Concealer Duo is available in four shades and will suit fair-medium skintones. The shades for Glamoflauge Lite are (more or less) right on par with normal Hard candy concealers & foundations like Hard Candy's Just Face it Foundation or Hard Candy's CC Tinted Moisturizer Stick Foundation. (The original Hard Candy Glamouflage Concealer runs VERY light for any line.)

The four shades available are Ultra Light, Light, Light/Medium, and Medium. They did NOT release Porcelain, Fair, Medium/Tan or Tan but its likely that they will if this is popular!
Overall, for $6, its totally worth picking up and giving it a shot. Worst case, if you hate it, you can always bring it back to Walmart, and its worth supporting a CRUELTY FREE company!
