Becca is an Australian cosmetic company who specializes in offering shades for every skin tone imaginable, and overeall they do this quite well, but shades are only half the battle!

The other factor in choosing  foundation is seeing how the product's formula and performance holds up; and that's what we'll take a look at with Becca Ever Matte Shine Proof Foundation!
Becca Ever Matte Foundation is, (in addition to Shine Proof), just ABSOLUTELY AWESOME!!! Make no mistake, its formula probably isn't the best if you have dry skin; but it can't be demoted for that when its name is Becca Ever Matte, Shine Proof Foundation and it certainly lives up to that name!

If you were impressed by the micro-milled particles in foundations like Makeup Forever HD Invisible Cover Foundation, than you will be AMAZED by the texture and consistency of Becca Ever Matte Foundation as it sets. It's like comparing the texture of Sugar and Flour (with Becca equaling the latter.) Becca has done such a stellar job with Ever Matte Foundation by utilizing the latest liquid-powder silicone technology while retaining the water resistant, transfer resistant, traits of a traditional long-wearing formula- without losing the medium-full coverage capabilities!

While its entirely possible at one  point I did see the description for Becca Ever Matte Foundation somewhere and I just didn't conscientiously retain it, I wrote the above paragraph on my own believing that the statements about micro-milled paritcles were entirely my own words based on my experience. It wasn't until I just went to the Becca website to get their description for this review that I saw what they have to say about Becca Ever Matte Foundation which is nearly identical to what I wrote!

Coverage is in the medium range and its definitely buildable, but Becca Ever Matte Shine Proof Foundation really specializes in keeping oil in check. This is a foundation that your setting powder and blotting papers will resent for putting them out of a job, but what's really unique is the way that Becca managed to get this foundation to seamlessly mesh with skin.

Blending is very simple and really a dream, but Becca Ever-Mattes sets quickly and once it dries it won't budge. Luckily it doesn't have a stupid-fast setting time like some long-wearing formulas that make blending impossible, and you'll get an extra few seconds if you apply Becca Ever matte over a moisturizer or moisturizing sunscreen; the emollient nature of those will delay setting just a tad without sacrificing performance.

If you have a primer you really love, by all means use it under the Ever-Matte Foundation but if you don't get the results you were hoping for, try Becca's Ever-Matte by itself. The blend of silicones and powders in Becca may perform best on their own and adding additional oil-absorning silicones via a primer under the foundation may or may not get you the results you want. Just be sure to give Becca Ever-Matte Shine Proof Foundation a fair chance and play around with different application methods.

Wear time is very impressive and will last the better part of the day ffor those with oily skin. The last image I took of the shades was taken at about 3am (hence the bad lighting), after the shades were swatched at about 10am. The light-medium shades still look really good and the only reason the two darker shades have a "patchy" look is because I waited too long to smooth the swatches out and they had already dried so that's the perfect example of why you want to work quick and get going when applying!

The shade range of 20 is, once again, absolutely spectacularly done by Becca. The options range from fair-deep and will suit a variety of undertones. This is another foundation where I could get away with using either Porcelain or Shell but instead I prefer to mix them together. The hint of olive in the Shell is neutralized by the pink in Porcelain and I end up with a very natural, neutral, almost indistinquishable shade of peach. (I'll post pictures of the shades mixed to show what I'm babbling about if anyone asks.)

If I haven't been clear up until this point, I'll put it simply- anyone with oily skin NEEDS Becca Ever Matte Shine Proof Foundation. Its one of the best foundations in either the long-wearing foundation OR the liquid-powder foundation category and I couldn't recommend it more!
