Revlon Age Defying CC Cream SPF 30 Color Corrector is basically an oophed up version of Revlon's Photoready BB Cream SPF 30. Now you'll read alot on the web about the difference between BB & CC Creams, and most things you read will hold true for some lines of products, the reality is that the whole BB/CC debacle is completely subjective, unregulated, and subject to chance at any time, and from brand to brand; so while one company's "CC" may have more coverage than their "BB", it may be vice versa in the next line of cosmetics you try. Just keep that in mind.

Essentially, Revlon took their BB Cream, and added a bunch of awesome cell-communicating ingredients & antioxidants. They beefed up their BB and marketed their CC as having anti-aging ingredients, and charge about $2 more a tube. (No, its not a substitute for a serum.)

That being said, like their BB Cream, their CC is a lovely product and one of the best CC Creams for the money available at the drugstore. Considering the formula, finish, and SPF 30,and, while not identical, Revlon CC Cream actually makes a quite suitable dupe for Mac Prep + Prime Beauty Balm BB Cream SPF 35. Coverage is on the lighter-sheer end of the spectrum, but American BBs & CCs are usually just tinted moisturizer level coverage, so its certainly not out of the realm of reason-ability when compared to its competitors!

It has a satiny finish and is extremely moisturizing so it is definitely best for those with drier skin types. It will work beautifully under foundation if you're looking for more coverage, and as such, works fabulously as a hydrating primer for those with normal-dry skin.

Unless you have very dry skin, I probably wouldn't recommend this as a summer foundation if you're going to be outside in the heat, although it has adequate sun protection, it is a moisturizing product!

All in all, Revlon maintained their winning streak with this one and, as long as they refrain from selling their products in China, I highly recommend picking one of these up!

*As of January 2014, Revlon has announced that they will be removing themselves, and Almay from the Chinese Marketplace. As long as they refrain from re-entering the Chinese market before current legislature is changed, they are infact, no longer testing on animals either directly or indirectly. I believe that we need to reward this decision to remove their products from Chinese shelves, by purchasing from them for as long as they withhold their cosmetics from China, so that maybe, just maybe, they will see an unintended positive reaction from American consumers which will financially benefit them more than the Chinese demand for American cosmetics. It is up to us as consumers to be diligent and immediately refrain from purchase if they reverse their decision and re-enter the marketplace, but in the interim, I believe we should purchase from them to show our support for their decision, even if it was made without any thought for the lives of animals it would affect.
