Revlon Photoready BB Cream has since inspired little sister Age Defying CC Cream, but is there a difference? Keep reading to find out!
Essentially, Revlon BB & CC are the same product, save for a few moderate details. Revlon included several anti oxidants & cell communicating ingredients in their CC Cream, which, while it sounds promising, are not present in amounts large enough to replace your normal skincare regime. Revlon also added a 4th shade to their CC Cream line up which is spectacular for 25% of the population, and lastly, they increased the price by about $2 which may not seem significant, but it is a 20% increase in price....Other than that, the two formulas are exceptionally similar!

Revlon claims that their Photoready BB Cream SPF 30 Beauty Balm will hydrate, prime, protect, blur imperfections, and conceal problem spots. In short, it does do everything promised as long as you keep your expectations contained to a reasonable level.
SPF 30 ensures that your skin will be protected, and yes it will hydrate and work well under makeup, but as for blurring imperfections and concealing your skin woes, those are a bit of a stretch. Yes, Revlon's BB will certainly even skin tone, but only to the point of any other sheer-light coverage tinted moisturizer/American BB Cream, which is precisely what this is, but that doesn't mean that its not a fabulous product...it is.
It actually, along with Revlon's Spin-off from this, the Age Defying CC Cream SPF30, is a very close drugstore dupe for Mac Prep + Prime Beauty Balm BB Cream
SPF 35.. It blends wonderfully, comes in three neutral shades, and is one of the best drugstore options available for a tinted moisturizers or BBs currently on the market, just don't expect it to offer more than light coverage!
If you're looking for a cruelty free, moderate coverage BB/CC cream, try Physicans Formula Super BB All-in-1 Beauty Balm, or Super CC Cream. The shade selection is more limited, but it does offer superior coverage and also have an SPF of 30!
*As of January 2014, Revlon has announced that they will be removing themselves, and Almay from the Chinese Marketplace. As long as they refrain from re-entering the Chinese market before current legislature is changed, they are infact, no longer testing on animals either directly or indirectly. I believe that we need to reward this decision to remove their products from Chinese shelves, by purchasing from them for as long as they withhold their cosmetics from China, so that maybe, just maybe, they will see an unintended positive reaction from American consumers which will financially benefit them more than the Chinese demand for American cosmetics. It is up to us as consumers to be diligent and immediately refrain from purchase if they reverse their decision and re-enter the marketplace, but in the intereim, I believe we should purchase from them to show our support for their decision, even if it was made without any thought for the lives of animals it would affect.
