Nars Sheer Glow Foundation; Review & Swatches of Shades

Nars Sheer Glow Foundation
Price: $45 per ounce
CRUELTY FREE!!!

Nars Sheer Glow Foundation is one you may or may not have heard of but it's created a lot of hype and is somewhat controversial. Earning a BEST rating from Paula Begoun's team and at the same time making makeup artist Wayne Goss's list of "All time worst foundations," so if you have heard of Nars Sheer Glow Foundation and you want to get to the real story keep reading...
The Beautypedia team was very clear in their review that Nars Sheer Glow Foundation is neither all that Sheer OR all that Glowy and Wayne Goss listed on his list of "Worst Foundations EVER" because he believes Nars Sheer Glow is poorly marketed and has a misleading name. I agree with both Paula's people and Wayne and I think that the name is a little misleading in some ways, but I think Nars chose that name in comparison to their other foundations- not the competition.

Nars currently has three foundations on the market. They have their Sheer Matte Foundation which is obviously for Normal/Oily skin and they have their Radiant Creme Foundation which is one of the ultimate moisturizing foundations available for dry skin on the market today. Then they have the Nars Sheer Glow Foundation which is really a more balanced formula and a combines the best of both worlds for those of us with needs that may fall in between Nars Sheer Matte and Nars Radiant Creme Foundations.

Nars Sheer Glow Foundation isn't a foundation that is Glowy but it does have a natural finish. This means if you have normal/dry skin the finish will likely appear matter and if you have oily skin you will probably get a more shiny appearance. If you have oily skin you would probably fare far better with Nars Sheer Matte since Sheer Glow has no oil-controlling properties whatsoever (so set Nars Sheer Glow if you want to try it), and any hydrating elements are minimal at best.

If you have combination skin or just plain old normal, not too dry, not too oily skin, then Nars Sheer Glow Foundation is certainly one to try. I personally adore it, especially for Spring and Fall seasons; (before the dryness of winter and the oiliness of summer kicks in) and that's really what Nars Sheer Glow is; A Balanced and Well Formulated Foundation!

Nars Sheer Glow is a fabulous Cruelty Free alternative to many silicone based, water soluble foundations such as Mac Mineralize Moisture Foundation, Lancome Photogenic Lumessence, Lancome Regenerie Lift, and many, MANY more! This is definitely one to consider if you'd had trouble finding a foundation that isn't too drying or overly moisturizing; OR if you've never found your perfect match!

Nars Sheer Glow Foundation is available in 20 impressive shades which will suit very fair to very dark skintones. I have only swatched 14 out of the 20 shades and neither the fairest nor the deepest is included so the scale of the range isn't fairly demonstrated (although it's still impressive.)

  1. Every time we encounter failure and disappointments in life, we run to our friends first rather than to our parents maybe because we are more confident to tell everything to them. Our parent can also be our friend, but sometimes we distance ourselves to them because of fear which should not be in our mindset.
