CRUELTY FREE!!!

It Cosmetics has definitely made a huge splash in the cosmetic world, and in just a few short years their Bye Bye Under Eye Concealer & Bye Bye Under Eye Corrector, (and spin off Anti-Aging Bye Bye Under-Eye Concealer) have all become cult favorites in what may be a record period of time, but are these concealers and correctors worth trying or are they just another over-hyped product?
What's interesting about the It Bye Bye Concealer & Corrector is that they are actually similarly formulated. Granted, there are some huge differences, but they both fall in to the same basic category of "emollient based" versus a long-wearing/drying, oil free and/or silicone based formula.

It Bye Bye Under-Eye Concealer:
The It Bye Bye Under Eye Concealer is an absolute favorite among quite a few people. As the name states, its purpose is strictly limited to concealing under eye woes since this formula would absolutely not be suitable for breakout prone skin given its emollient & moisturizing formulation, but its not marketed for use anywhere else on the face so it doesn't lose points for its limited use.

The Bye Bye Under Eye Concealer itself is a typical grease-paint type formula. If you have tried Stila Perfecting Concealer, Tarte's Marcuja Full Cover Concealer, Too Faced Absolutely Flawless Flexible Coverage Concealer, Laura Mercier High Coverage Concealer, or even Hard Candy Glamouflage Concealer, you'll know what to expect. Where It Bye Bye Concealer differs, is that when it is exposed to body heat it will melt more than the above named competitors. This make's it an ideal formula for those with exceptionally dry skin, but those with normal skin or slightly oily skin will almost certainly have to use a powder with it to prevent creasing and running in to fine lines.

Coverage wise, It Bye Bye Under Eye Concealer will absolutely offer fabulous coverage which is why this category of concealers is my absolute personal favorite for under-eye woes, and it will last all day as well, regardless of whether you use powder or not.

As far as any anti-aging claims- take it with a grain of salt. The easily absorbable formula will certainly moisturize dry under eyes and will make fine lines less noticeable as it plumps up skin, and there is a dashing of anti-aging ingredients which won't hurt, but they aren't in large amounts to qualify as effective skincare.

It Bye Bye Under-Eye Corrector:
The It Bye Bye Under-Eye Corrector has a few things in common with the Under-Eye Concealer, the shade range and emollient formula are a few to start. The Under Eye Corrector is a light-weight cream formula which starts out hard initially but quickly softens once you work with it. Initially it appears similar to something along the lines of MAC Studio Finish Concealer  but It Bye Bye Under-Eye Corrector is a much lighter weight, almost mousse-like formula.

It claims that the Corrector shades are "peach based" but I don't notice any distinctive peach based tones in the shades, and it doesn't seen anymore "peach" than the Bye Bye Under-Eye Concealer. (See the pictures below.)

While nothing prevents using the Bye Bye Under Eye Concealer over the corrector, some people may find it too moisturizing to pair together, in which case using powder will help or you can use either the Bye Bye Concealer or the Bye Bye Corrector with the Bye Bye Redness, which may be a better option since that is a formula which dries.

Unfortunately, unlike the Bye Bye Under-Eye Concealer which is available in 4 shades, the Bye Bye Under-Eye Corrector is only available in 3 shades with the fairest shade being omitted from the selection. While according to the names of the shades it was the Tan shade which was left from the Bye Bye Under Eye Corrector line up, the pictures below show that the shades in the Corrector clearly run exactly one shade darker than the shades in the concealer.

Concealer shades vs Corrector shades
Concealer Light=No Corrector
Concealer Medium=Light Corrector
Concealer Tan=Medium Corrector
Concealer Deep=Rich Corrector

Just because this lists the equivalent shade doesn't mean that if you use one you should use an identical shade in the other. For example, some people may want to lighten dark circles with a lighter shade Corrector and use a concealer which matches their skintone for maximum coverage. This is totally up to the individual user.

Overall, both the It Bye Bye Under Eye Corrector and It Bye Bye Under Eye Concealer are both excellent products to consider if you have normal-dry skin and/or prefer a moisturizing under eye concealer. Chances are most people will prefer one over the other, but I'm sure a few will chose to use them in conjunction with one another. If you live in a hot or humid climate, you may find you need to set them lightly with powder, but that's standard with any emollient product and shouldn't be a deal breaker, especially where both of these products do an excellent job of resisting both creasing and running under normal circumstances.

Be sure to bear in mind that if you're looking for a concealer for acne or blemishes, these probably aren't your best bet due to their emollient nature, but they shouldn't lose points for that since they are marketed strictly as Under Eye products and for that, they work FABULOUS!
